I really need to trust the tools I use to be reliable so I can just do my day-to-day work and not have to worry about why my system keeps failing. This article's tone or style may not reflect the encyclopedic tone used on Wikipedia. This is the case for many notes that were imported from Evernote as well as notes I have created in Obsidian since I switched and put PDFs in the notes. ![]() Now I have random PDFs that are referenced in notes that do not exist. When I imported my notebooks from EN, Obsidian created a folder "_resources" where all the attachments went so I set up Obsidian going forward to sync PDFs and store them in this same folder. I paid for the Obsidian native Sync to one remote Vault and have three devices connected a laptop, a desktop, and my phone (Windows PCs and iOS phone). When I navigate to the _resources folder where the PDF should be, the file is indeed not there. Obsidian says the whatever.pdf has not been created, click to create it. I have recently come across instances where I know the PDFs were there, but now they are gone. I have the PDFs embedded in notes with a few of my own notations along with the document. I work in healthcare and have many PDFs that I keep for reference. I am an Evernote refugee who recently imported all of my 4000ish notes into Obsidian. ![]() I have learned alot from this subreddit, so I thank you all, but I might continue my search for something more intuitive and predictable.
